On July 30th. 1932 Arnold Briles received a fractured skull and other injuries. He was in Leavenworth, Indiana, on a Saturday night, when he and the fellows he was with left, they were traveling on Hwy. 62, East, of Leavenworth near Dry Run Bridge. They rounded a curve and he lost his footing, he fell from the running board where he was riding and landed on his head. Dr. H. H. Dean of Leavenworth was called to give Medial attention. He was taken to a nearby house where he was cared for until Monday evening when he was taken in the ambulance of Emmett Beanblossom & Son to St. Edwards Hospital in New Albany. Arnold died at 9 days later, on August 8, 1932, at St. Edwards Hospital in New Albany, Floyd Co., Indiana. The body was removed to the funeral home, in Corydon, Indiana and then taken to his home for services, in Scott Twp., Harrison Co., Indiana. He was buried at Potato Run Cemetery.
