Mrs. Elmer Lay died early Friday morning at St. Vincent's hospital Indianapolis, where she had been under treatment since last Monday. Mrs. Lay was 25 years of age and before her marriage was Miss Susie Gerdes, daughter of Mr and Mrs. Clem Gerdes, fo this city. Besides her husband and parents she is survived by seven sisters and two brothers Mrs. Artie Ferguson, city; Mrs Joseph Schnurr, Cincinnati; Misses Elsie, Aline, Carrie, Lucile and Florence, all living at home; Gred Gerdes, of Minonk, Ill. and Roy , living at home.
The body will be brought to Madison at noon Sunday and taken to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clem Gerdes on Baltimore street. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 Monday morning at the First Baptist church. Rev. B. E. Antrobus officiating. Interment will be in Springdale cemetery. Mrs. Lay was widely known and greaatly beloved by many friends in Madison, who are deeply grieved at her untimely passing. Her death is deeply felt by a large family circle and all with whom she was associated.
