Death of Michael Lay Esq. Well Known Farmer and Barber Expries
Mr. Michael Lay died at his home on the Canaan road at 8 o'clock Wednesday evening, June 5th after quite a lingering sick spell, suffering with kidney disease. He was born January 23, 1853, in Milton, Ky. November 15, 1877 he was married to matilda Gehl. Tho this union nine children were born, four girls and five boys. One son, Henry died when about 10 months of age. Alice Lay McCelland died in September 25, 1908. The rest together with the wife, are left to mourn their loss.
Bert, Elmer and Otto are living in Indianapolis. Mrs. Gertie McLaughlin, Clarenc, Irene and Charlotte together with one grandchild, Gale McClelland, are at home. A brother Fred Lay lives at Indianapolis.
Mr. Lay was a barber, by trade, at Columbus, Ind. Ther funeral will be held Friday afternoon at one o'clock at his home on the Canaan road. Burial in Fairmount cemetery. Friends are invited to attend.
