Mr. Shreve,...died last night, after an illness of five years, at his residence, 1422 South Third Street [Louisville, KY].

Charles Upton Shreve, 88, member of one of the Louisville's pioneer families, died at his residence...Mr. Shreve's father, Thomas T. Shreve, operated the first rolling mill and one of the first banks in Louisville. His uncle, L. L. Shreve, in business with his father, was the first president of the Louisville and Nashville Railroad and also was the first executive head of the old Louisville Gas Company....
