Macon (GA) Telegraph, January 17, 1893, p. 1. NOTE: Milltown is located on the eastern border of Crawford and the western border of Harrison. Census records suggest that Alexander was a big younger than the newspaper item below alleges.

English, Indiana, Jan. 16-Living at Milltown, Indiana, is Alexander Hockaday, one of the most picturesque characters in the state. He was born in Virginia, east of the Allegheny Mountains, in 1779, and is, therefore,
113 years old. He removed with his family to Harrison County, Indiana, 60 years ago and is still living in the same place.

Mr. Hockaday has a wife 85 years old and 11 children living. The old couple are hale and hearty and bid fair to live for several years more. Mr.
Hockaday regularly visits his children and frequently walks to a neighbor's house a mile distant. He claims to have always voted the Democrat ticket, last ballot being for Cleveland last November.
