THIS may be late , however I just found your message. James M. Cummings married Amanda Staton.
James is my great grandfather. His parents were
Joshua Cummngs and Mahala Swope, both where from west Va., James is buried at Jefferson Barracks national cemetry in St. Louis.His parents are buried at Leota, Scott Co., INdiana.

Could James and Rhoda CUMMINGS' son possibly be James M. CUMMINGS, b. 1838 who married Amanda J. STATON in 1858 in Clark Co., IN? Amanda J. STATON was my Gr-grand Aunt and James M. CUMMINGs fought in the Civil War and died in St. Louis, MO 29 Aug 1863. He died of a war wound. Amanda married again, but she and James had two sons, Aaron Orville and James William STATON. If you think this is the same James M. CUMMINGS, please let me know. Thanks,

I am searching for information on the CUMMINS-LOCKHART family. James (b 1790 d 1850) and
Rhoda (b 1802 d 1853) were married in 1823 in Jefferson Co., KY. They both were born and died in Jefferson Co., KY. There children were James Metton, William Maurice, Margaret, Vinnie, Mary Elizabeth and Sarah. I would appreciate any help that anyone could give. I live in Alaska so it is hard for me to find records.I am directly related to James. I have old pictures to share. Mary
