Hello: I am trying to locate where my ancestor Elizabeth Smeathers who married George Statler in Dec 1808 had a son name Wm Statler Mar 1820. I have information that says he was born in the cabin at Knob City INdiana which was originally known as Knob City Store and owned and operated by her brother in law, Daniel Grass, who marr Elizabeth's sister, Jane Smeathers in 1800 in Spencer co, In. My info also says that Elizabeth started the first school in this Knob Hill cabin for negro children. I would like to know approx where this cabin is located. I have info that says a Memorial marker is placed by it with info on it saying that Elizabeth is sister to Jane Grass. I am wondering if this cabin is the one on Knob Hill creek where Abe Lincoln stayed at one time.
