Gail, my name is Rachel Hoertz and I have connections to the Metz family as well as, obviously, the Hoertz family. I currently have family living in Louisville, Danville and Lexington. We have traced our geneology back a century earlier than the 1830's and certainly have information about the Hoertz and Metz families in the 1830's.
