Ran across your posting on Young Montgomery. Have your found any more information in the intervening years? Thomas Gabbert Montgomery was my ggggf, I have information from him down, but little on Young's predecessors.

Looking for descendants and more information about the family of Young Montgomery and wife Anna Gabbert. I found Young Montgomery in the 1830 Census index for Washington County. I think that the following were some of their children Sarah Montgomery born about 1830 (married John Shanafelt), Mary Margaret Montgomery born 29 Apr 1832 in Indiana (married William Currey in Clay Co., Illinois 24 Mar 1850, John Martin Montgomery born in Jefferson County Indiana 23 Jun 1839 (married Sarah Jane Courson 5 Jun 1862 in Marion County, Illinois); also James Montgomery abt 1826 in Indiana (married to Eliza Shanafelt, William H. Montgomery abt 1837 in Indiana, and Thomas Montgomery about 1829 in Indiana (married to Susannah Catherine Shanafelt 7 Sep 1848 in Marion Co., Illinois). Any information on this family would be helpful. I wonder if Young and Anna died before 1850 because John Martin was staying with his sister Mary Margaret Curry in Marion County Illinois in that census.
