From information that I have gathered in the past several years, it would appear as though Thomas Atkinson, patriot, died ca. 1818 in Ohio,, and the Thomas buried on the farm would probably be his son, Thomas, Jr. - also known as Thomas, Sr. when he got to Orange Co., IN. There are so many Thomas's it gets hard to keep them all straight.

I am just now (July 2005)researching a Thomas Atkinson. from Indiana Patriot Graves: http://graves.inssar.org/A.html
and from "Roster of Soldiers & Patriots of the American Revolution buried in Indiana," published 1938 by Indiana Daughters of the American Revolution. Both have the same information:
Thomas Atkinson, born 18 Sep 1741, Orange Co, NC; died 28 Sep 1784 on his farm south of Paoli, IN. The burial date has been changed (by hand) to ca 1818.Wife Ruth Cruze and Ruth Harvey. Children: John, Thomas, Mary, Ann, Robert, William. Elizabeth. He was a Quaker. Hope this helps.

My ancestor, Thomas Atkinson, is one of the patriots buried in Orange Co., IN. According to the DAR records, he died in Georgia about 1815. From what I have read in Paoli, IN., he is buried on his farm. Seeking date of death.
