Kentuckiana Genealogy: County: Breckinridge Co., Kentucky: Two Sets of Bruces in Breckenridge Co KY

I am researching the Bruce Family. I have found 2 sets in Breckenridge Co Ky...All of my line, starting with the oldest, James W Bruce b. 1840 who married Sarah Ann Bonny and down the line are buried in Lodiburg, Ky at the Locust Grove Cemetery. But in my research at the court house in Hardinsburg, Ky I have found Hirum Bruce that dates back to the early 1800's. Most of my line have come to Breck Co by way of Caswell Co NC to Madison Co KY and on to Breckenridge Co. I wonder what brought them to Breck Co? My great grandfather, Azariah Bruce married Pearl Argubright, daughter of the Rev IC. But why did Azariah come down that way, when so many of the others stayed in Madison Co, Ky? Please Help!
