Kentuckiana Genealogy: County: Perry Co., Indiana: Burdiss family of Perry Co., In.

I am looking for information on Mike Burdiss born in Kentucky. Married Betty Davis ( really! - not kidding) and they were my great grandparents on my mothers side. They were alive in the forties and fifties as I vividly remember their house in Clarksburg, W. Va. and he danced the Irish Jig and used a spitoon. I have asked my mother, who is still living, for more information and she doesn't seem to have much except that he (Mike) came from Kentucky. Her mother died very young of cancer and I believe this was NOT their only child, they had Bea and Teen and others in the Clarksburg area.

Burdiss was my great grandmother's maiden name. She and two of her brothers were in Perry County in the 1860-1880 period. She also moved to Ashland, Ky around the turn of the century (Carter County then to Ashland where her sons had located). I know something about Francis and James Burdiss but yours is a new one although there are a lot of "Johns" in both the Murphys and the Burdisses. Please contact me directly.

I am looking for information about the family of John Bernard Burdiss, born 7 Dec.1860 in Cannelton, Perry Co., Indiana. He married Mary Ellen Brennan Pack Harvey in 1885 in Christian Co., Ky. Their only son was John Bernard Burdiss, Jr. born 1891 in Ashland, Boyd Co., Ky.
