Kentuckiana Genealogy: County: Jefferson Co., Kentucky: WOOD FAMILY

I am looking for information about the John H. Wood family, who lived in Jefferson County, KY, before and during the Civil War. After the war, they sold their land, because they could not work it without slaves, packed up their belongings and moved with their nine children to Austin, Texas. This was around 1874. My grandmother, Olive, was one of the children. She attended a school in Louisville. She is listed there on the 1870 census, so it must have been a boarding school.
