It is possible that Susannah Johnson may also have come from Scotland
I am also beginning to wonder if Susannah might be of Cherokee Indian descent, as the Johnson name is found among the Cherokee, and:
**Mahala was a popular name for girls among the Cherokee, AND, Joseph and Susannah named one of their daughters Mahala! I find that the Scots often married among the Native American lines.
I have not been able to find anything on Susannah, either. However, the Native American girls often married to Immigrants as early as 14 years!
Any help or information will be greatly appreciated, and I share what I have on the family.
Thanks, John

I am looking for the following:
Joseph Rainey Robertson, "Born in Scotland, 1760-1780", This is all we have on him) He is my gggg grandfather - he died 1833 Near Frankfort, KY Note: Joseph may have been listed as Robinson
Married to: ****Susannah Johnson, b. 1760-1780. m. 11-24/26-1795 in Madison CO., KY No other info known about her either!
Date of births estimated from marriage – about 1775.
They had 8 known children: NOTE: Unless Joseph was married prior the Susannah, I would think the birth spans should be after the marriage to Susannah (1795).
We have no idea why, when, where, or how he got to the USA. It may have been because of the "Clearances" or being bonded to someone, or even exiled because of some action of his.

All census info lists her as "W" [white], but family stories say she was Blackfoot/Cherokee. She married Daniel Jefferson Huffines about 1889 in IN or KY? Any info helpful.

John Pruett born in 1820 was my great, great grandfather.
He was one of the first pioneers to Orange County.
He did not purchase land because he said he could hunt and trap to trade for powder and food for his family. He is listed in the History of Orange County. He was the father of William Pruett who was the father of Woodrow, Elias, Albert, Oliver Morton and Pearl Pruett among others. He married Martha Sims in Lawrence County but later moved to Breckinridge, Missouri. William Pruett is buried at Silverville, as well as his wife, Martha Sims, and son Albert Pruett(1876-1956) married Mary Waggoner in 1898. They had nine children, Maribelle was the last one. She married Lester Edwards from Mitchell, Indiana and they resided in Orleans for 35 years. Lester Edwards still survives.Maribelle died in 1995. If you know of this family or are related, please write to sharp@airnwire.com
