John Sachtleben is listed as a soldier musician in the 6th Kentucky Infantry ( Volunteer) Regiment (Union) in the US Civil War. I have information on his muster in date and the fact he deserted in April 30 1863. In order to connect this soldier to a John Sachtleben who came to Australia around 1871 I need to obtain more details on the origins of this soldier. He was listed as resident in Jefferson County. Are there any records of this John Sachtleben or other Sachtlebens in Jefferson Co. in that period or possibly today. Barry Luke
