Seeking information as to the identity of John Knuckles born 1840 in Kentucky. Father in VA mother in KY according to 1900 Census. This John does not fit into the NUCKLES family who settled in Washington County in the early 1820's.

Here is his somewhat profile:
He married Margaret Hedrick 7/3/1872. They had a child Alice Alfias Knuckles born 9/1/1877. They divorced May of 1885 and John then married Sarah Jane Gosnell. They divorced1887 and Sarah married James Milligan c1895. This John Knuckles is thougt to be the one in the 1900 Decatur Co, Clay, IN 7/1840 M25y KY VA KY, Blacksmith living alone.)

Any help identifying him would be helpful. It seems he is NOT the John Nuckols born c1838 who settled in Graves Co KY 1870-1880-1900
