I am looking for references to John STEPHENS who married Catherine HOBACK on June 23, 1820 in Crawford County, Indiana. Catherine's last name may have been spelled HOBOUGH. I do not know the names of their parents. There are no STEPHENS or HOBACK families listed in the 1820 census for Crawford County. There is, however, a listing for an Andrew HOBOUGH. Could he be Catherine's relative? There is a marriage listing in the same county for Nancy HOBACK who married a Matheny (his second marriage) in 1825. Could she be related to Catherine? There is also a reference to a Mark HOBACK who was murdered during that time period in the same county. He was a veteran of the War of 1812. Could Mark HOBACK be related to Catherine? Is there a connection to my HOBACK family in Crawford County, Indiana and those in Hardin and neighboring counties in Kentucky? Thank you.
