I'm looking for information on Rice family who lived in Laconia,Mauckport,then New Albany, IN.
Simon Rice b. 1804 in PA d. 1871, moved from Butler Co., PA to IN in the late 1850s, May be a connection to Rices(Henry and John) who came to Mauckport in the early 1800s who were from the same area in PA.
Simon Rice and wife, Susannah Kirker(1802-1881) are buried in the Rehoboth Cemetery, Harrison, IN. There children, all b.in PA, included John( never married) b.1826,George "Joseph" b.1827, William b. 1828(stayed in PA), Elsy b.1830(no further info), Abraham b. 1833(married Susan Miller in PA, moved to WI, then NE d.in 1901), Simon b. 1834( married Barbara Hoessle,d. 1910 in New Albany) Johnston b. 1837( wife,Rachel ? no issue found, d. 1902 in New Albany) , George W. b. 1838( died in 1862 , Co B, 53rd IN), Henry b. 1841 (married Cahterin Jones, moved to IL), Sarah "Sally" b. 1844( never married, died 1917 in New Albany).
