Kentuckiana Genealogy: Queries: Unsolved Mysteries: Laura S. Brooks Swartz

I have searched for years as to what happened to my great grandmother, Laura Brooks Swartz. She married William Swartz in 1876 and he remarried in 1886 to Mary Lumpkins. I have found no death record on Laura and no one seems to know what became of her.
I do not know if she died between 1876 and 1886 or if, possibly, she left this part of the country. The marriage record between she and William is the last mention of her that I have been able to find.
