I am directly decended from Jonathan R. Brown and Sarah Deering Jenkins of Crawford County Indiana. Their youngest of 12 children, Nathaniel Pleasant Brown was my g-grandfather.

I have good information re: Jonathan and his wife and children, however, no information at all re: either of their parents, and more importantly, the Brown line before Crawford County.

Jonathan was born April 18, 1810 in NC m Sept 17, 1831 and died before 1870 in Crawford County. I have no buriel information but suspect he is buried in Crawford county along with Sarah.

I have circumstantial information he was the son of either 1) James Brown (of Crawford Cty) but which James? (a James Brown married Mason Jenkins, possible mother of Sarah Deering Jenkins) or 2) Zacariah Brown of Marengo. Neither of which can be or has been substantiated.

Any and all information re: J R. Brown, who supposedly served in the Indiana House as a representative of Crawford County, and/or Sarah Deering Jenkins Brown, would be greatly appreciated...
