I am seeking any information on a James Tadlock ALLEN born 18 Feb 1814 in Washington Co., IN. Married to a Mary "Polly" GOEN 10 Dec 1832 in Jackson Co., IN. They had several children by that marriage: Leonard D. ALLEN b. 11 Dec 1835, Sarah J. ALLEN b. 26 Dec 1837, Charity ALLEN b. 07 Apr 1840, Wm. ALLEN b. 23 Apr 1842, WM. J. ALLEN b. 05 Jul 1844, Arena K. ALLEN b. 26 Jan 1847, Steven P. ALLEN b. 13 Feb 1849, Rhoda Ann ALLEN b. 29 Mar 1851, George W. ALLEN b. 21 Mar 1853 and Cornelius ALLEN b. 06 Nov 1855. The family lived in Washington Co., IN until aprox. 1840/2 and then moved to Jackson Co., IN. Any inoformation pertaining to this family would be much appreciated.

My Allen family is from Washington Co IN. We are actively searching the Allen family. Related families are Stewart, McCoskey, Spurgeon, Waggoner, to name a few. There were many Allen family members in Washington, Clark Counties and they had very large families.

I am searching for info about Sampson Allen (B- early 1800 in NC) He married Naomi Owens (B-early 1800 in Louisville, KY) They were married in 1830 in Jefferson Co. IN This is my brick wall!!! Please Help

Source notes: The source of this record is the book CH-10 on page 58 within the series produced by the Indiana Works Progress Administration.
Also if you go to the 1870 Federal Census Record for Indiana, it shows him on it. He was 66 at the time. His date of birth would be 1806, sometime after June 02. He was born in North Carolina.
The 1860 Federal Census has him and his family living in Minnosota. It's difficult from the handwriting to determine if his wife's name is Naomi, but it's pretty close. And she was born in Kentucky. It has their children's names listed also: James, Elizabeth, John and Mariam. All the children were born in Indiana, except Mariam, who was born in Illinois.
