Kentuckiana Genealogy: Out Of Area: Breathitt Co., KY: Nathan Combs

Am looking for info on my father in law, his name was Becham Combs but in later years he moved away and called himself Robert Combs. He was from Breathitt Co, KY and my mother in law said his father was Nathan Combs and he was in law enforcement of some kind and got shot on the courthouse steps. His step mom was Sylvania Combs. I can not find any info on my father in law at all. I am trying to gather the info for my children.

I believe there was a Nathan Combs that was killed in what they called the French and Eversole War (feud). You can find it on an internet search.

My grandather is 81 years old and we're in the process of writing a book about his life in Breathitt County. He is a decendant from the Combs and Deaton line and his last name is Spicer. He is the son of Lula and John Spicer. Lula was a Deaton/Combs I believe. His name is Decoursey "Al" Spicer. He resides in Middletown, Ohio. He remembers every one from Jackson.
