My grandfathers name was Walter Peanut Howard. He had brothers named George, Herman, Jess. Sisters named bird, flora. I would like to know the history of the Howards that lived in southfork and Jackson.

Hi,

My name is Rick Howard, I am trying to trace some roots out of the Jackson, Kentucky "Breathitt county) area of Kentucky. My mother was Geneva Howard (maiden name) Jackson, KY. my father Haskell Howard from the hills of Virginia (I think) my grand father on my mom's side was Berry Howard his wife Laura was Cherokee, my grand father on my father's side was Harris Howard, I do not know my grand mother's name on his side.

I have tried a few other genealogy attempts but spent money for bogus information. I can provide more Howard info in hopes to also receive some that may help me track some of my ancestors.

You might want to try looking up Howard Cemetary. It is located on South Fork Rd. There is also a community called Press Howard Fork, also on South Fork.
