Indenture made 26 Aug. 1819, between Philip ZILHART & Peggy his WIFE, of
Jefferson County, KY ... "of the one part and the following gentlemen,
appointed as trustees for their respective congregations for the
Jeffersontown Church: To Wit, Henry F. Kalfus and William Mills for the
Presbyteria, Peter Yenawine and John MIller for the Lutheran, MIchael
Miller and PHilip Weinand for the Methodist and George Hikes Sr. and Edward
Tyler Sen. for the Baptist congregations of the other part..... for $35..
"all that certain lot of ground situate, lying, and being in Jeffersontown
on the South East side of Main Street, and known on the map, or plat of
said town by number 35, containing in front of said street 66 feet, and in
depth, 200 feet (warrant to the ): trustees for the respective
congregations and their successors"..... for the exclusive right and
privilege of the use of the German and English Presbyterial, German and
English Lutheran, German and English Methodist, and German and English
Baptist societies and to prevent disagreeable occurrences which might arise
from so many societies uniting in building a house for their public
worship.... have made the following regulations to divide the weeks in
every month for those of the said house for every society, to wit, First
the German and English Presbyterians shall be entitled to the use of the
said church to perform their religious worship from the first Thursday and
the six following days in every month.... German and English Lutheran..
second Thursday and six following days in every month,...German and English
Methodist.. third Thursday and the six following days.... German and
English Baptist ..fourth Thursday and the six following days... when... not
occupied.. it shall be free.. for any religious societies. For this
purpose the within named trustee.. shall appoint one discreet person.. who
shall keep the Keys of the Church and open the Door to any preacher of the
Gospel, when not occupied by either of the before named societies, And the
said trustees, and their successors shall have full power and authority on
the part and in behalf of each of their respective societies to fill any
vacancies that may happen, either by death or resignations of any of the
present trustees or their successors. And the within named trustees for
themselves and their respective societies, covenant and agree that the
foregoing herein recited regulations shall be punctually and perpetually
observed by every society privileged to make use of the said church for
their religious worship, and that no alteration shall be made in the said
regulations without the consent and approbation of all of the trustees of
every society. In witness whereof the said parties to these presents have
hereunto set their hands & seals the day & year within written.

Now they are collecting for a stove for the church.
