Fullenwider, Henry Taswell
Died 1940's,
Alton - Henry Taswell Fullenwider, son of Robert H. and Elizabeth J. Fullenwider, was born at the home of his grandfather, Colonel Henry Fullenwider, near Alton, May 31, 1868.
At the age of 21, his father deeded to him a small farm nearby which he tended and on which he later built a home.
After the death of his parents, he lived alone until his sister, Mary, retired from teaching and bought a home in Alton. Since then he has helped her make a home.
At an early age, Henry was converted under the preaching of the Rev Mr Wesley at Deuchars, and later united with the Baptist Church at Alton. He served as church clerk and superintendent of the Sunday School a number of years.
Henry never said unkind words about persons and was always ready to help a neighbor.
He was able to care for himself until the day of his death, thus realizing his wish not to be a burden to anyone.
Three brothers, Charles, Peter and Clay, preceded him in death. He is survived by three sisters, Mrs Ottie Deen, Mrs Sallie Wood and Mrs Mary Spindler; six nieces and nine nephews.
