Florence Monzell Johnson Kemp, daughter of Peter and Imanda Jane Johnson, was born February 1, 1885 at Alton and died August 4, 1944 at Bethany, Ill., at the age of 59 years, 6 months and 3 days.

She was a member of the Baptist Church. She was united in marriage to George F. Kemp on December 17, 1907. To this union eight children were born. Clay Kemp and Mrs Pearl Winters, of Ringold, Nebr.; Russell and Richard Kemp, of Bingham, Nebr.; Ray, Walter and Leon Kemp, of Tryon, Neb. and Mrs Virginia Parr, of Alton; Besides the husband and children, she is survived by three brothers, Cleon Johnson, of Beechwood; John Johnson, of Alton, and Homer Johnson, of Ft. Wayne, and eight grandchildren.
