Milltown - Mary Alice, daughter of William F. and Catherine Williams, was born at Magnolia, October 9, 1862.
She was married to Andrew P. Wilkins on September 7, 1881. To this union one daughter was born. Her husband preceded her in death May 29, 1889. On December 30, 1892, she was married to Winfield Scott Paris.
She was a member of the Methodist church of Leavenworth since 1885. Having been a resident of New Albany for a number of years, she affiliated her membership to the Trinity Methodist church, where she remained a member until death. After the death of her husband, Capt. W.S. Paris, she made her home with her daughter at Milltown, where she joined the Ladies Aid of the Milltown Methodist church and was an active member as long as her health would permit. She passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs J.J. Johnson, Sunday morning, September 7, 1841 (1941), on her wedding anniversary.
She leaves her daughter, Mrs J.J. Johnson; a grandson, J. Merrill Johnson; a step-daughter, Sara L. Paris, of Milltown, a step-son, Judge John M. Paris, of New Albany, and four step-grandchildren, Mary Lucille, Sara and David, of New Albany, and Dr John M. Paris Jr., of Indianapolis; also a number of nephews and nieces and other relatives and friends.
The Funeral was conducted by the Rev Charles R. Holmes, assisted by the local minister, the Rev O.M. Deal, Tuesday, September 9, at 1 p.m. at the home of Dr and Mr J.J. Johnson. Members of the Milltown Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, of which Mrs Johnson is a member, served as flower girls. Burial was in Cedar Hill cemetery at Leavenworth
