I am looking for the location (County) in Kentucky where my Great-Great-Grandfather came from. He is listed on the 1860 census from Hunt County, Texas as John McCarty. It shows he was born in Kentucky, probably between 1834 and 1837. I believe his full name was John D. McCarty, the middle initial stands for David. He later moved to Henderson County, Texas. I would appreciate any help I can get, thanks for taking the time to read this. Thank You, Terrell Nelson

Looking for information on the LOWETH family in New Albany, Floyd Co., Indiana. My great-grandfather, Benjamin Walter Sands married Mary Elizabeth ( Elizabeth or Lizzie) Loweth (b. 18 March 1960 in Ohio; d. 11 Feb. 1929 - buried in Fairview Cemetery in New Albany). I have recently been given information that they married 27 Dec. 1889. They had two children. I know that there were some LOWETHs living in New Albany ca. 1894, as I have a memorial card sent from England to a "Mr. J. G. Loweth, New Albany, Indiana, America, US" The postmark year is not visible, but the memorial is for a "Robert Loweth" who died 25 Dec. 1894. If anyone has any information about the Loweth family in New Albany, esp. Lizzie Loweth's parents, I would appreciate hearing from you. Thank you. Cecile SANDS Ueltschey

I am looking for information on the Rush or Rusch family in Louisville, KY. My great-grandmother was Adeline Cecilia Rush (b. 26 Feb. 1880; d. 10 Sept. 1945 in Louisville, KY) who married Frank Mueller in Louisville, KY. Her parents were John Rusch (b. 1836?; d. 19 Dec. 1918 in Louisville, KY) and Barbara G. Rusch (maiden name unknown) (b. 1847?; d. 14 Dec. 1935 in Louisville, KY). My mother says that she always had seen "Rush" spelled R-U-S-H, but the obituary for Barbara found in my grandmother's (Verna Lee Mueller, daughter of Adeline) Bible has it spelled as R-U-S-C-H. Family lore has it that John Rusch was born in Alsace-Lorraine and came to Louisville from Pennsylvania. If anyone has information placing John and Barbara in Louisville, and perhaps their marriage date, I would be very appreciative. I have some information on the children of John and Barbara (all daughters) and some of their descendants that I am willing to share. Thank you. Cecile SANDS Ueltschey

He and his wife, Mary Elizabeth LOWETH Sands are buried in Fairview Cemetery, New Albany, IN. Mary Elizabeth was from Ohio, born 18 March 1860, died 11 February 1929.
